Pro-Palestinians published this letter by Einstein, from April 10, 1948.

They erroneously suggested that those he called “criminal people” were the Zionists. Nothing is further from the truth.
When Einstein wrote “… a real and final catastrophe should befall us in Palestine…” and so forth, he was expressing fear for the Jews who lived in (then still Mandatory) Palestine, and it is clear that he associated his fear with the much greater catastrophe that happened just before – the holocaust.
Einstein was strongly opposed to the two groups of Jewish resistance that “build up from our own ranks”, whom the British called Irgun and the Stern Gang. When he wrote “I am not willing to see anybody associated with those misled and criminal people”, he was talking about Irgun and Stern Gang. He was opposed to terrorists, even or maybe especially, ones that grew in our Jewish midst.
Einstein would NEVER have supported the Hamas terrorism.
Also, in his letter, he was not writing about the Arabs, who many people now call “the Palestinians”. His letter had nothing whatsoever to do with them.
As a rule, Einstein was always strongly supportive of unlimited Jewish immigration to Palestine, and believed that Balfour Declaration’s proposal to establish a national home for Jews in Palestine “redresses the balance” of justice and history; He pointed out that “at the end of the first world war, the Allies gave the Arabs 99% of the vast, underpopulated territories liberated from the Turks to satisfy their national aspirations and five independent Arab states were established. One percent was reserved for the Jews in the land of their origin”. And I add – a “home” but no state was given the Jewish people.
Einstein expressed a thought that he would rather not see an independent Israel with a military – but that was before the Holocaust – in April 1938. It was before the holocaust, even before Kristallnacht (Nov. 1938); and long before the actual horrendous scale of the extermination of the Jewish people was unraveled. Einstein also believed that Arabs and Jews could and should live in harmony together in this land. That never happened, and the Arab states waged war on newborn Israel with the slogan “From the river to the sea” – free of Jews. They still do.
In June 1947, Einstein wrote to Nehru, Prime Minister of India: “Long before the emergence of Hitler I made the cause of Zionism mine because through it I saw a means of correcting a flagrant wrong….The Jewish people alone has for centuries been in the anomalous position of being victimized and hounded as a people, though bereft of all the rights and protections which even the smallest people normally has…Zionism offered the means of ending this discrimination.”.
(Bold is my addition).
Ten years and in a whole new universe, when President Harry Truman recognized Israel in May 1948, Einstein declared it “the fulfillment of our (Jewish) dreams.”

Einstein, like most of the Left Wing Israelis lived under the delusion that peace between Arabs and Jews was possible. But it’s not enough that one side is willing.
Obviously, Einstein’s vision was never to be.
I hope, I have in a small way helped to refute the lies and ‘inaccuracies’ about Einstein.
Einstein was anti-terrorism and a great supporter of Zionism.
